The leader of the English delegation, Andy Anson, who sought to win the right to host the 2018 World Cup, says that the country should abandon such intentions until FIFA changes the voting process.

Although England was considered a favorite, the 22-member executive committee decided that Russia was the most suitable country. The English dropped out after the first round of voting, receiving only two votes.

"I would say that it is pointless to waste time unless the voting process is changed," Anson said. "When there are only 22 people, their influence becomes too great."
