Mourinho: UEFA considers me exceptional © EuroFootball.com

"The strategist Jose Mourinho from Madrid calls the two-match UEFA disqualification a medal, not a punishment, stating that he is considered an exceptional person.

UEFA disqualified the Portuguese for allegedly instructing his players to deliberately receive red cards in the Champions League match against Amsterdam's "Ajax".

Mourinho will have to miss one game, and a second in this case, if he repeats the violation within three years.

"This punishment seems like a medal to me," said Mourinho. "I don't intend to change. My grandmother died a long time ago, but I remember what she told me: 'if they envy you, you must be happy'. That's what happened to me.

"I am glad that there are rules for Mourinho and for all other coaches. To me, this is a historic punishment. According to my grandmother, it is more of a medal than a sanction.

"I cannot leave the technical area, others can. I cannot speak to the fourth official, others can. These are medals, so I am not worried at all."
