Bastian Schweinsteiger should extend his contract with Bayern Munich for another four years and commit to stay until the summer of 2016.
According to sources close to the 26-year-old footballer, formalities could be sorted out before Christmas.
It is said that Schweinsteiger is being eyed by teams such as Real Madrid and Manchester United, but Bayern officials have firmly rejected the possibility of selling him.
Recently, other key players of the squad, including Philipp Lahm, Franck Ribery, and Thomas Muller, signed long-term contracts with Bayern Munich.
