London team will have to manage without their main defender Thomas Vermaelen at least until the new year.
The 24-year-old footballer has been unable to play since September when he suffered an injury while representing the Belgian national team.
"We hope to see him back on the field as soon as possible, but it won't be until at least January," stated coach Arsene Wenger.
In total, Vermaelen will miss about three months.
