Spanish and Madrid team striker Fernando Morientes has announced to the Spanish press that he has already made a decision and in January, when the "transfer window" opens, he will move to Liverpool - it is written on the official website of the English club.
"Yes, I am going to England - I have already made up my mind," Morientes says. "I am going to Liverpool for many reasons. The main one is the coach Rafa Benitez. He is Spanish and knows me very well. We asked the decision of the Madrid club to be made quickly. For now, I don't want to talk more about this topic, I will just say that I am already learning English."
Morientes' agent Gines Carvajal admitted that the player's future is now in the hands of "Real" because the royal club will have to agree on the transfer fee.
"Everything depends on Real Madrid. So far, I haven't seen anything in writing from Liverpool's side. I know they have already talked to the Madrid club, but the president was not satisfied with the first offer. However, the player's feelings will be a priority with certain price frames. This is important," said G. Carvajal.
Last year's best Champions League striker Fernando Morientes should replace the injured Frenchman Djibril Cisse in the Liverpool club, who is unlikely to appear on the field this season.
