Champions League: in the last round clubs will play for both places and honor (Part II) © EuroFootball.com

Tonight in the Champions League, the remaining eight matches of the last sixth round will be played.

"EuroFootball.com" took a look at the situation of the teams in the tournament tables and what results they will aim for on Wednesday.

Group E:

Munich's "Bayern" will play a home match against "Basel" knowing that they have already secured the first place in the group. The Swiss still have a chance to jump into the outgoing knockout stage train, but that would require not only a victory in Bavaria but also "Roma" slipping up away to "Cluj."

In Romania, for the Italians to not fall below second place, a draw would suffice.

Group F:

"Chelsea" has secured the first place in this group by winning the first five matches, so the English champions will aim to finish the first stage with only victories - they will need to win away against "Marseille."

The French are also at ease about their future - they will surely remain in second place.

In the other match, "MSK Zilina" will still seek their first point as they host Moscow's "Spartak." The Russians will continue their season in the Europa League.

Group G:

Madrid's "Real" and "Milan" advance to the quarterfinals from Group G. Madrid will finish on top, so the home match against "Auxerre" will be a good training session for them.

The French will battle for a spot in the Europa League - currently, they trail behind Amsterdam's "Ajax," who are in third place and travel to Milan to play against the already qualified "Milan" eleven.

In this match, "Ajax" will no longer be led by Martin Jol, who resigned a few days ago.

Group H:

There is still intrigue in this group - three teams are competing for the two spots in the quarterfinals. For the first time in history, Donetsk's "Shakhtar" could make it among the top 16 tournament clubs - they only need a point at home against "Braga."

If the Portuguese win, then "Shakhtar" will be tied - both teams will have 12 points.

London's "Arsenal" will play at home against Belgrade's "Partizan." After losing to "Braga," Arsene Wenger's team is not in a very comfortable situation and must win to comfortably await the next round's draw. If the English win and the Ukrainians lose, "Arsenal" will take the top spot in the group.

"Partizan" has not yet earned any points. Champions League: teams will play in the last round for positions and just for honor (Part I)
