President Massimo Moratti's patience in Milan is running out - the team's results are unsatisfactory for both him and the fans, so the coach Rafael Benitez may soon be dismissed.
Moratti was particularly upset by the defeat in Tuesday's Champions League match - the Italian champions were defeated 0-3 away by Werder Bremen, despite Moratti emphasizing before the match that this not particularly important match needed to be played honorably.
"I don't want to cause problems before the Club World Cup, but after that we will see what to do next," said the Inter chief. "I felt we would lose in Germany, but I really did not expect what I saw.
"I feel betrayed - as always when we lose so crushingly. I took the failure very painfully. I don't think the players did it on purpose - perhaps they are under too much pressure with the upcoming matches."
It is said that Benitez will lose his position if the Club World Cup tournament, starting soon, is not won. Moratti did not deny this: "There can be no excuses. Benitez must show character, otherwise we will definitely not win the cup. I am not issuing an ultimatum, I just say that this is very important.
"I believe the players can do it. Benitez must find a way to fix this season."
