The chief strategist Luigi Del Neri warned Gianluigi Buffon that he should not expect an automatic place in the starting lineup upon his recovery from injury.
Considered one of the best goalkeepers in the world, the Italian has not played this season due to a back injury, but is expected to return to the field in January.
According to Del Neri, Buffon will have to compete with the current main goalkeeper of the team, Marco Storari.
"Will Gigi play in the starting lineup when he returns? No one can promise anything," said Del Neri.
"Buffon will have to prove that he can play like in his best times. For now, Storari has deserved his place in the starting eleven with his performance, so it will be difficult to bench him."
