The captain of the Spanish national team, Iker Casillas, considers Germany the main threat to the dominance of world champions on the international stage.
Having triumphed in the European and world championships, the Spaniards won the first tournament final and defeated the Germans in the semifinals of the second, but Casillas is wary of the team led by Joachim Low.
"The only team I fear and respect a lot is Germany," said the goalkeeper. "I really liked this team. At least in the World Cup, it was my favorite.
"It is a young team with excellent footballers. I think that in a few years, Germany will set the standards when we are no longer at the very top."
