In the only Friday match of the German championship, the "Hamburg" club won a psychologically important victory by beating Menchengladbach's "Borussia" 2-1 away.
The first goal came just after the break, when Eljero Elia sent the ball into the net, but soon Igor de Camargo equalized.
"Borussia" had opportunities to push forward, but failed to capitalize on them and paid dearly for it - Piotr Trochowski's penalty goal determined the victory for the Hamburg team.
"Hamburg" rose to 8th place in the table at least temporarily after the victory, while the Menchengladbach team, still without a home win, ranks in the last 18th position.
