The defender Dani Alves sarcastically responded to Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho's statement that he would give himself an 11 out of 10 rating for last year's performance in a 10-point system, by rating Barcelona's performance as a 12.
In an interview with the newspaper AS, Alves said: "Personally, I would rate the team 12 points. However, I have great respect for Mourinho, as I believe that self-esteem should be as high as possible."
The Brazilian also added that negotiations are currently underway regarding the extension of his contract.
"I would like to stay here and have no intention of leaving," he said. "Even if I can't do that, I will give my all to the team."
