Fifty-three African national team coaches and captains have chosen Cameroonian Samuel Eto'o as the best football player of the year on the continent for the fourth time in his career, surpassing Ivory Coast striker Didier Drogba and Asamoah Gyan from Ghana.
Last season's winner triumphed in the country's championships and cup tournament with Milan's "Inter", as well as winning the UEFA Champions League.
The 29-year-old Eto'o previously won this award in 2003, 2004, and 2005.
A few days ago, BBC named Gyan as the best African player.
