Madrid coach Jose Mourinho denied the strained relationship with the club's director Jorge Valdano and assured that he wants to lead for all four years as stipulated in the contract.
Over the weekend, Portugal complained about not receiving enough support from team leaders when criticizing referees who, in his opinion, clearly support Real Madrid's opponents. But his opinion on this matter, according to the Spanish press, did not align with Valdano.
"I can deny that our personal relationship is bad," said Mourinho. "I don't have such problems with anyone and that is the most important thing."
Valdano also reassured that such talk is greatly exaggerated.
"We are all different personalities and we have to accept that," he said. "We have a great team and a bright future, with such a talented coach, and that should be enough for everyone to be happy."
