The left back of the Spanish national team and the club, Vicente, will not play for at least ten weeks. Valencia's representatives announced this news after an operation was performed in Belgium on Monday.
The Spaniard suffered a left ankle injury at the end of September in the Champions League match against Werder. He returned to the field in December but still felt pain, so he was examined again in Belgium.
Vicente will be forced to miss the UEFA Cup match against Steaua and the 2006 World Cup qualifying match against San Marino.
