Alexander Pato admitted he did not want coach Leonardo to succeed at his new club in Milan.
The Brazilian agreed to take over the reins of the Italian champions, even though he has spent several years of his career playing for their fiercest rival, Milan. He coached this team last season, but due to disagreements with owner Silvio Berlusconi, he stepped down from his duties in the summer.
"We all make decisions thinking that we are doing the right thing," said 21-year-old Milan striker Pato. "Leonardo is a professional coach, so we must respect his choice to continue his career."
He added: "However, I hope that he does not achieve great success with the Inter team. Milan needs to win the Scudetto much more than Inter."
