Amsterdam club will be coached by Frank De Boer, replacing Martin Jol who resigned last month.
The 40-year-old specialist was appointed as interim coach, but has now signed a contract that will be valid until 2014.
De Boer also works as an assistant to the Netherlands national team coach Bert van Marwijk.
In the Dutch championship, Ajax team currently holds the fourth place, six points behind the leader PSV Eindhoven, who has played one more game.
