Only this summer, the club's ranks were supplemented by French national team defender Bixente Lizarazu, who failed to establish himself in the main club lineup, decided to leave the team and return to his old team in Munich.
The player signed a contract with the German team until the end of the season, and then joined the team by loaned defender Philipp Lahm.
Lizarazu will join the Munich team on Thursday in Dubai, where the team is preparing for a training camp.
"Liza called me during the winter break and said that he didn't really like playing in Marseille," said Bayern's general manager Uli Hoeness. "So I contacted Olympique and we sorted everything out."
From 1997 to 2004, Lizarazu played 151 matches for Bayern in the Bundesliga and during that time helped the team win 4 championship titles and win the German Cup three times.
