Madrid striker Gonzalo Higuain will undergo surgery to finally solve the back problem that has been bothering him since November. However, there are fears that the Argentine may not appear on the field this season.
The decision to undergo surgery was made after consultations between club officials, the player, and his family.
"The constant pain forced doctors to recommend surgery. This decision was made by the family, the player, and the club," says a statement from Real.
This season, Higuain has managed to play 12 matches and score 7 goals.
Due to this injury, Real Madrid started looking to strengthen their striker line. It is said that one of the most realistic candidates to fill the gap is Manchester City's Togolese forward Emmanuel Adebayor.
