Ancelotti: "I'm lucky I haven't been fired" © EuroFootball.com

London strategist Carlo Ancelotti admitted he is lucky that he was not fired from his duties after the team fell into a deep hole.

The English champions have won only one match out of the last eight and dropped to fifth place in the standings.

"I know that many coaches would have been fired for such results. So I was lucky," the Italian said.

"You have to pay at the restaurant after you eat, so the club can judge my work after the season."

On Wednesday, Chelsea will face Wolverhampton away. Ancelotti said before the match that strengthening the team during the winter transfer window is not necessary.

"There is no desperate need to buy something," he insisted. "Everything is fine. We will return to the fight for first place without newcomers. It is important that there are no injured players."
