The International Federation of Football History and Statistics has recognized Italian Gianluigi Buffon as the best goalkeeper of the decade.
The Turin Juventus goalkeeper missed most of the past year due to injury, but that didn't stop him from surpassing Spanish Iker Casillas in second place and Czech Petr Cech in third place.
The top ten also included Edwin van der Sar, Oliver Kahn, Dida, Jens Lehmann, Roberto Abbondanzieri, Victor Valdes, and Julio Cesar.
