David Beckham will probably sign a short-term contract with a London club this weekend.
The 35-year-old veteran currently belongs to the Los Angeles Galaxy team, but will return to his homeland during the break in the United States.
"The deal will most likely be completed by Sunday," said Tottenham coach Harry Redknapp. "The clubs are still negotiating, but the likelihood is certainly high."
The MLS season starts in the middle of March, so Beckham could play about 10 matches wearing the London team's shirt.
