On Friday, the club finalized all the formalities and acquired "Wolfsburg" forward Edin Dzeko for over 32 million euros.
The 24-year-old Bosnian signed a four and a half year contract.
However, the footballer's debut will not happen in Sunday's FA Cup match against "Leicester". Since he was not registered for the match, Dzeko should make his first appearance in a "Man City" jersey in the next Saturday's match against "Wolverhampton".
Having scored 66 goals in 111 matches in Germany, Dzeko has already outsmarted opponents' goalkeepers 10 times this season.
He became the ninth purchase by "Man City" coach Roberto Mancini in over a year. The acquisition of the Bosnian is likely to mean that forwards Emmanuel Adebayor and Roque Santa Cruz, who play episodic roles, may have to leave the team.
"I was always most attracted to "Man City," said Dzeko. "So far, 'Wolfsburg' refused to sell me, but I am glad that now I will be representing such an ambitious club. This was my first and only choice."
