Lithuania's national team coach Raimondas Žutautas was one of the candidates to take over the reins of Tel Aviv's "Maccabi", but the Israeli club opted for Motti Iwanir.

According to the statement, the Lithuanian Football Federation would not object to the specialist combining work in the national team and the club, so Žutautas is open to offers.

The 38-year-old Žutautas would not have been a newcomer in Israel - from 1999 to 2003, he represented the Haifa "Maccabi" team as a player and became the national championship winner twice.

Our national team continues the battle in the European Championship qualifiers and at the end of March will host the planet's champion, Spain, at home.
