"Leicester" acquired two "Hearts" club footballers © EuroFootball.com

Last year, a club relegated from the English Premier League acquired two players from the Scottish Edinburgh Hearts club - Surinamese Mark de Vries and Irishman Alan Maybury. Both players signed three-year contracts. These are the first players the club has acquired since Craig Levein took over the team. Leicester paid a symbolic fee for both players, which Hearts officials, including Lithuanian businessman V. Romanovas, agreed to, as they would not have received any compensation for their transfer when their contracts expired in the summer.

It is worth noting that one of the leaders of the Hearts club is Lithuanian banker V. Romanovas, who has acquired almost 20% of the club's shares and intends to acquire more. In recent times, 5 and 4 footballers from Minsk's "MTZ-Ripo" have been training at the Hearts club. Both of these clubs are owned by V. Romanovas. In total, 20 footballers from Eastern Europe have been on trial at the Hearts club.
