Temporary coach Kenny Dalglish will be among the main candidates to take over the team for a long time this summer.
The Scot replaced Roy Hodgson a few days ago and will work until the end of this season. Then the club plans to look for a specialist to offer a long-term contract.
Asked if Dalglish will be among the contenders, football director Damien Comolli said: "My answer is 'yes'."
Meanwhile, the strategist himself stated: "If I succeed, but someone arrives who can do this job better, I will have no problems stepping aside."
