The International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS) has announced that Spain is leading the world national football league rankings, surpassing England, which was previously in the lead, and securing Italy in the third place.
Meanwhile, the Lithuanian championship is ranked in a modest 82nd place and is surpassed not only by its neighbor Estonia (60th place), but also by countries such as Guatemala, Zimbabwe, Sudan, Zambia, Armenia, and Vietnam. However, Latvians are even lower - in 91st place, which they share with Botswana.
Since 1991, the ranking takes into account the clubs' results in local competitions and international matches.
