London's head coach Harry Redknapp has confirmed that even if David Beckham were to sign a short-term lease agreement with the club, he would not play against his former team.
The 35-year-old footballer has not yet reached optimal athletic form, so the experienced capital team specialist would not release him for the weekend match at "White Hart Lane" stadium.
"Even if the contract were signed, he would not play on Sunday," Redknapp said. "David is not physically ready and he knows it. It will take a few weeks before he is ready to step onto the field."
