Cameroonian national team member Jean Makoun is leaving and for 8 million euros is heading to England, where he will wear the Birmingham jersey.

On Saturday, the 27-year-old footballer will undergo a medical examination.

"We really needed a player like him, because we lack players in this position," said Aston Villa strategist Gerard Houllier. "Jean has experience and is a good defensive midfielder."
