"Real Madrid's leaders have decided to look for a striker who could strengthen the team's attacking line until the end of this season.
With Gonzalo Higuain sidelined for four months due to a back injury, coach Jose Mourinho was left with just one nominal striker - Karim Benzema.
Initially, it was stated that "Real" would not be looking for new players, but Higuain's diagnosis forced a rethink.
"We're active in the market because the situation regarding Higuain has become final," said general director Jorge Valdano. "We'll see if we can find a player who can help us for six months. We are linked with many goals, but I do not want to delve into details."
Local press reports suggest that "Real" may be interested in adding Miroslav Klose representing Bayern Munich or Togo's Emmanuel Adebayor from Manchester City to their squad. There is also a possibility that veteran Ruud van Nistelrooy, currently wearing the Hamburg jersey, may return to the team."
