Birmingham City acquired striker Darren Bent for €21.5 million. Moreover, the sum could increase up to €29 million according to additional conditions.
The 26-year-old footballer successfully passed the medical examination and signed a four-and-a-half-year contract.
His debut for Birmingham could happen this Saturday in a match against Manchester City.
Furthermore, this is the most expensive purchase in Aston Villa's history. Previously, the highest amount was paid for James Milner - almost €15 million.
“As soon as I heard they were interested in signing me, I wanted to come here," said Bent. "The size of the club and its history were the main reasons for my decision."
