London-based attacker Andrei Arshavin may return to his homeland Russia - he is being pursued by his former club Zenit St. Petersburg.
The 29-year-old footballer has not been demonstrating good sports form this season, scoring only 4 goals in 21 matches.
"With Andrei, everything is very simple - he grew up in our team, so the door is always open for him," said Zenit director of sport Igor Korneev. "We are always waiting for Arshavin to come back, whether it happens now or in the future."
However, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger recently stated that he does not want to sell Arshavin this winter.
"This is not the easiest period for the player, but he works hard in training, so I would not want to sell him," the Frenchman said.
