Lisbon officially announced that negotiations with London have broken down, so defender David Luiz will stay in Portugal.
Although it was announced that both parties were close to an agreement and a deal worth 23 million euros could happen at any time, it was ultimately revealed that Luiz will remain in the "Benfica" team.
In the statement released by the Portuguese team, they were pleased that the Brazilian did not leave. According to the club, Luiz himself never requested to be sold.
23-year-old Luiz joined the "Benfica" team in 2007, coming from his native Brazil's "Vitoria" club.
