”The club will have to do without their defender Curro Torres for five to six weeks, as it has been reported that he needs to undergo surgery due to ongoing knee problems.
The 25-year-old defender has been suffering from pain in his right knee since the Champions League match against Bremen team on September 29th. Today's tests showed that the surgery is indeed necessary and will be performed tomorrow in Barcelona.
After the match against "Werder", Curro tried to train in order to perform well in the "Valencia" match in the UEFA Cup tournament, where the Spanish club will face Bucharest's "Steaua" on February 16th and 24th.
"Valencia" entered the UEFA tournament after dropping out of the Champions League. In the matches against "Steaua", one of "Valencia" team leaders Vicente probably will also not play, as he underwent ankle surgery on January 3rd.
