Kenny Dalglish believes that Liverpool still have a chance to qualify for the UEFA Champions League tournament, although at the beginning of the season they were at the bottom of the league table.
Currently, Liverpool occupies the seventh place, trailing by 12 points from the fourth place, which guarantees a spot in the Champions League qualification tournament.
"We are not playing in the Champions League this year, but we have to aim to do it next year," said the coach. "If we fail to do so, we will have to strengthen and fight for a spot in this tournament during the summer."
"But we have not given up on the intention to do it this year. We have to try, earn as many points as possible, and then see if we are climbing in the league table. The Champions League is an attraction for people and always will be."
Liverpool will host Stoke at home on Wednesday. In this match, the new Liverpool acquisition Luis Suarez should make his debut, but another newcomer Andy Carroll will not play due to injury for a few more weeks.
