Officially confirmed that they have reached an agreement to extend the contract with coach Pep Guardiola for another year - from now on, the contract will be valid until the summer of 2012.
Formalities are expected to be finalized in a few days, when the club president Sandro Rossellas returns from a trip.
In 2008, Guardiola took over the team's helm and has already won eight trophies, including two Spanish league titles, the Champions League trophy, the European Super Cup, and the Club World Cup.
Currently, the Catalan team is leading the national championships, seven points ahead of Madrid's "Real".
In the Champions League quarterfinals, "Barcelona" will face London's "Arsenal". The first match will take place on February 16 in the English capital.
