"Attacker Wayne Rooney insists that the goal against "Man City" was the best of his career.
After receiving a pass from Nani from the wing, the Englishman sent the ball into the net with a shot over himself, sealing his team's victory 2-1.
"As soon as I scored, I knew it was the best goal I have ever scored," Rooney said. "The feeling was incredible. The fans deserved it, as this season has not been the most successful for me."
His mentor, coach Sir Alex Ferguson, also praised his protege: "It was extraordinary and unforgettable. Throughout my career, I have seen many great goals, but the execution of this shot was exceptional."
