Former Brazil national team defender Roberto Carlos has terminated his contract with his homeland club "Corinthians" and is moving to Russia. According to the press, he will put his signature on a one-year contract worth 5 million euros with the team "Anzhi" from Makhachkala.

The 37-year-old veteran was attacked by "Corinthians" fans, who were upset by the team's early withdrawal from the "Libertadores" Cup tournament.

"We guaranteed Carlos security, but he has his own motives," said club president Andres Sanchez. "He will soon turn 38, and after receiving a lucrative offer from abroad, he decided to take advantage of it."

Carlos was also sought after by Los Angeles "Galaxy", but the sum offered by the Russians was significantly higher.

Throughout his career, Carlos has worn the jerseys of teams such as Milan "Inter", Madrid "Real", Istanbul "Fenerbahce", and others.
