Jose Mourinho will be disappointed if Real Madrid fails to win the Spanish champions title, but he adds that great victories await next season.
According to the Portuguese, his future is not tied to the results of this season.
"Finishing the season without titles would be a painful blow, especially for the fans who are used to victories. However, you always have to adapt to circumstances and facts," Mourinho told the newspaper "Marca."
"The natural evolution of the team suggests that there will be no titles at the beginning. This is a logical cycle that will lead to big victories in the future.
"Next year, I expect much more from the team than this season. I and the players follow the same football philosophy."
Next week, Real will compete in the Champions League round of 16 against Lyon.
