19th round: Leaders continue to be separated by two points © EuroFootball.com

On Sunday, eight matches of the 19th round of the Italian championship took place. The defending champions "Milan" managed to restore the balance that existed 10 days ago and reduce the gap from the leader "Juventus" to two points.

The Italian champions, after conceding a goal at the beginning of the match, bounced back at home and later scored three times to defeat the team in third place, "Udinese", while "Juve" failed to beat the team of "Cagliari" away, where the legendary 38-year-old G.Zola scored a goal.

The only home defeat of the round was suffered by "Lazio", who unexpectedly lost to "Palermo" and experienced their first defeat under the recently appointed coach G.Papadopulo.

Only V.Montella's excellent play saved the capital's team "Roma" from defeat away against "Chievo", while the match between "Sampdoria" and "Bologna" ended in a draw. The clash between the two league newcomers "Livorno" and "Messina" ended in victory for the home team coached by R.Donadoni, although T.Danilevičius did not play in this match.

After a disappointing start to the season, "Parma" at the bottom of the tournament table started to recover, winning at home against "Lecce" with a last-minute goal by A.Gilardino. Meanwhile, the match between the two bottom teams "Atalanta" and "Siena" ended in a 1-1 draw.
