Strategist Pep Guardiola assures that goalkeeper Victor Valdes' injury is not as serious as initially thought, so he will return to the field much earlier than after six weeks.
The 29-year-old footballer missed Sunday's match against Bilbao Athletic due to knee pain. There were reports that the Spaniard would be out of the lineup for about two months, but now his return is expected after three weeks.
"It seems that Valdes will recover not after a month or two, but earlier," said Guardiola. "In any case, we have Jose Manuel Pinto, who has never disappointed and is an excellent goalkeeper."
It is still unclear whether Valdes will recover in time for the Champions League round of 16 match against London's Arsenal, which will take place on March 8th.
