On Tuesday, the Lithuanian youth national team met with their peers from China in the third match of the Granatkin tournament. Unfortunately, the Lithuanians were once again unsuccessful in this match, losing with a score of 0-4 (0-3) and remaining in last place in the group, conceding the third place to the Chinese.
Today also saw another group A match, which includes the Lithuanian national team, between the leaders Belarus and Ukraine. The Ukrainians won with a score of 3-2, thereby taking the top position in the group and pushing the Belarusians to second place.
In group B, the national teams of Poland and Russia faced off, with the match ending in a devastating 0-7 score in favor of the Russians. Meanwhile, the second match in the same subgroup between Iran and Latvia ended with our neighbors losing by three goals. Russia won the group, Iran took second place, Poland third, and Latvia remained at the bottom.
Tomorrow, on January 20, the Lithuanian youth national team will meet with their counterparts from Poland. If Lithuania manages to win this match, then on January 22 a battle for 5-6 place will take place. If the Lithuanian youth team loses to Poland, they will have to play for 7-8 place on January 22.
