The Moscow team probably brings nostalgic memories to many football fans of the older generation. While the Soviet Union still existed, the capital club was a bright star in the world of European and global football.

It was a club that almost had no rivals in the entire former Union. However, since the last decade of the previous century, a sudden decline began. And it lasted for a long time. Many fans of this club have stopped believing in it, many have joined the fans of "locomotive" or "CSKA".

Especially last year, in the last matches of the 2004 season with another Moscow team, the club almost did not fall into the second league only because of Maxim Levitsky's leap in the last seconds, almost inexplicably logical.

However, soon the situation could change fundamentally, as new owners have come to the club, nurturing ambitious plans. The first steps have already been taken - the composition of the club is changing at a cosmic speed.

51 percent of the club's shares were bought by the largest player in the minerals market "Fedcominvest". Until then, the "white and blue" Muscovites, along with a few other smaller teams, were the only ones who did not have a wealthy "patron". And immediately after the arrival of the new owner, the club was shaken by truly "seismic" changes in the true sense of the word.

The new chairman of the club's board, Fiodorychev, also supported the Moscow club a little in 2000 and 2001. Since then, his interest in football has grown. Last year, he supported the team. Now he hopes that his money will justify the effort.

Fiodorychev has already allocated 20 million euros to the club's budget and plans to invest 115 million more over the next few years - in the stadium, training bases, and youth academy. He has already bought the rights to all Russian "Premier" league broadcasts on TV until 2007, and by the same year, he bought 80 percent of the total advertising space in all "Premier" stadiums. And the executive director of the Dynamo team, Yuri Zavarzin, further strengthened the club's image - he was elected the new president of the "Premier" league.

The first club purchases are already here. And the first of them is none other than former Spartak coach Oleg Romantsev.

The team is also welcoming its first players. "I do not want to offend the current generation of Dynamo players, but in my opinion, they do not match the club's image," says the former Russian national team coach. "We will work with ambitious players who are used to winning and who believe that the team will quickly regain its former glory."

After saying goodbye to Otar Khizaneishvili, Andrei Prokhorov, Alexei Mikhailov, and Martin Hasek, contracts have already been signed with defender German Kutarb, goalkeeper Sergey Kuznetsov, and soon the team should be supplemented by highly valued Yaroslavl defender Emir Spahic.

The team has already welcomed a whole group from Portugal - Brazilian Derlei, his former teammate Thiago da Silva, Gil Vicente defender Jorge Ribeiro, and 18-year-old Braga forward Cicero. It seems that ambitious plans do not end there, as the club is also trying to attract two more Porto players - Costinha and Benny McCarthy.

One thing is clear - the Moscow team will be much stronger next season and will pose a serious challenge to others. Whether the new owners, new players, and new coach can assemble a good team, play and bond together - time will tell. Who knows, maybe with the arrival of new magnates, we will have a new Chelsea variant like R. Abramovich?"
