England's national team and club star Wayne Rooney admits that this season is the worst in his career.
The 25-year-old forward scored a goal in the weekend match of the 28th round of the English Premier League against Wigan, but he has only seven accurate shots so far, being surpassed in this category by both Dimitar Berbatov and Javier Hernandez.
"I can admit that this season has been tough for me, probably one of the worst in my entire career," Rooney said.
"The weeks when I asked to be sold, I wouldn't want to experience that again. I'm convinced that I made the right decision later, because this club always fights for the highest positions.
Throughout the season, I suffered several injuries, which forced me to miss matches, so I didn't feel like I was helping the team. I really want to contribute as strongly as possible in the remaining matches."
