One game was played in the Italian "Serie A" championship on Monday.
The championship leader "Milan" secured a very important victory, convincingly defeating the third-placed "Napoli" team 3-0 at home.
The hosts took the lead at the beginning of the second half when Zlatan Ibrahimovic converted a penalty awarded by the referee for a handball. The referee had to withstand the angry attack of the "Napoli" players in the controversial episode, but it did not affect the Swede's concentration.
The visitors were a bit shaken after conceding a goal and as the match approached its end, they lost hope of at least securing a point - in the 77th minute, Kevin Prince Boateng sent the ball into the net following a pass from Alexandre Pato, and a few moments later Pato himself sealed the victory.
By recording 58 points, Massimo Allegri's pupils increased their lead over second-placed Milan "Inter" (53 pts) and the aforementioned "Napoli" (52 pts) and took a small step towards the "Scudetto".
