Mourinho arrogantly mocked the former "Real" coach © EuroFootball.com

Jose Mourinho publicly mocked his colleague Manuel Pellegrini, who left Madrid after last season and took over a club.

It was Mourinho who replaced the Chilean at the helm of the Spanish team, and since November, Pellegrini has been coaching a team that currently occupies only 19th place in the national league.

"What happened to Pellegrini would never happen to me," the arrogant Portuguese said. "If Real Madrid were to fire me, I would go not to Malaga, but to one of the big clubs in England or Italy. I wouldn't have to wait long for such an offer."

Mourinho also praised Pellegrini for the results in the Spanish league - under his leadership, Real Madrid players scored a record 96 points. However, they still couldn't match the champions FC Barcelona. He did criticize their performance in the Copa del Rey and Champions League tournaments.

"We have already performed better in the Cup. In the Champions League, not yet, because we can still stumble against the same opponent as last year," the Portuguese said.

Pellegrini did not engage in a war of words and insisted: "I do not regret taking over the reins at Malaga. I am proud to work here. Everyone has their own way of thinking and behaving. We all walk our own path."
