Two matches were played in the Spanish championship on Thursday evening.

Real Madrid did not let the leader, Barcelona, get too far ahead, crushing the last-place Malaga team at home 7-0.

Three goals were scored by the winners, including Cristiano Ronaldo, who continues to compete in goal-scoring races with Lionel Messi. Both now have 27 goals each.

Karim Benzema scored twice against the Malaga goalkeeper, while Angel Di Maria and Marcelo scored once each.

It is worth noting that Malaga ended the match with ten men — defender Manolo received a second yellow card in the penalty area, while Cala suffered an injury soon after. Meanwhile, Cristiano Ronaldo, who had already made all the substitutions, was absent from Real Madrid's squad as he left the field with a minor injury.
