FIFA earned 613 million US dollars over four years, but acknowledges that this indicator is too dependent on the World Cup.

The financial report states that even 87% of revenues, totaling nearly 4.2 billion dollars, came from the 2010 World Cup. The majority of the sum - 2.4 billion - was obtained by selling television rights.

Expenses amounted to 3.56 billion dollars. It is worth noting that 105 million more than planned was invested in football development, and the cost of the World Cup was 31 million dollars higher than expected.

"The numbers show that FIFA needs to create reserves and reduce dependence on championships," said the organization's finance director Markus Kattner.

It is worth noting that the results of the four-year period exceeded expectations due to good television and marketing sales - it was expected to earn 605 million.
