At the stadium of the "Manchester City" club, the draw for this year's European women's football championship took place, dividing the teams into two groups.
The hostesses of the upcoming championship, the English team, will face opponents from Sweden, Finland, and Denmark in Group A. In the other group, the current champions Germany will compete against teams from France, Norway, and Italy.
The draw ceremony was led by the coach of the English men's national team, Sven-Goran Eriksson, with the assistance of Karena Espelund, the chairwoman of the UEFA Women's Football Committee, and Richard Caborn, the Minister of Sport of the United Kingdom.
The championship will begin on June 5. Two best teams from each group will advance to the next stage.
