Munich's head coach Louis Van Gaal will leave the German club after the season, announces the official website of 'Bavarians'.
The 59-year-old specialist's chair wobbled after a series of defeats - to "Hannover" and Dortmund's "Borussia" teams in the Bundesliga, and to Gelsenkirchen's "Schalke" eleven in the semifinals of the German Cup ("DFB-Pokal").
"The reason for the separation is a different approach to the club's strategic direction," fcbayern.telekom.de writes.
Van Gaal, whose contract was valid until June 30, 2012, won the double in his first season with Bayern and reached the UEFA Champions League final in 2010.
