In the postponed 16th round of the Italian championship on Wednesday, the mid-table team "Messina" met the absolute underdog "Atalanta".

This match last year on December 18th was interrupted after just 20 minutes due to a storm that unexpectedly hit the teams playing at the "San Filippo" stadium in Sicily. At that time, the home team was leading 1-0, but it was decided to replay the entire match.

Since that day, "Messina" has lost two out of three matches, but ten days ago they ended this streak with a victory against "Brescia" at home. Meanwhile, "Atalanta", who have undergone many changes in the team, have already secured their first win of the season and are slowly trying to climb up from the bottom of the table.

Nevertheless, after playing the match, the result remained the same - this time in the middle of the second half Salvatore Sullo scored the winning goal and secured three points for his team. After this victory, "Messina" climbed up to 10th place.
